In Psalm 75:6-7 (NIV), it says “No one from the east or the west or from the desert can exalt themselves. It is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another.”

Before David became the 3rd King of Israel, he was put in the house of King Saul to serve him. David was successful in many ways. “In everything he did he had great success, because the LORD was with him” (1 Samuel 18:14, NIV). King Saul became very jealous of David’s success and popularity, but he couldn’t give away his power. Instead, he tried to kill David. David had to flee from Saul’s persecution. Though David had chances to rise against Saul, David patiently waited for God to deliver him. Eventually, Saul was killed in the battle and lost his kingdom. So David became his successor.

Today’s business world is full of competition. You might be in a situation that someone treated you unjustly as Saul treated David. As children of God, we need to constantly remind us of God’s promise—“He brings one down, he exalts another” (Psalm 75:7, NIV). Behave wisely! Wait patiently for God’s deliverance, vindication and restoration. Believe true promotion comes from the Lord! Remember to “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up” (James 4:10, NIV).
